Vintage Sunday - A Tribute to Grandmothers

Today I am feeling nostalgic - been thinking of my Grandmother alot. So today I am going to feature some items I remember from her home or know that she would have loved....

Please enjoy and visit the shops of these special items!

-
This ceramic pitcher and tray was undercoated with a rose pink. and clear glazed. The pitcher is
10 in. tall and 7 1/2 in. from spout to handle. 5 in. at base . The tray is 8 in. wide and 10 in. long. No cracks or chips.

Shesarainbowvintage - This is a very cute piggy bank made into the shape of a cat and kitten! The colors are very striking in shades of pink, black, grey, silver, and yellow and it has a luminescent finish to it. It was made in Japan and although it does has a good amount of wear on it (see photos), it's still a great piece... VERY CUTE!!

GotMilkGlassandmore - These are very detailed male and female Victorian figurines made in Occupied Japan.
No chips or cracks. There is some minor paint loss but nothing serious at all.
8" tall. 2.5" base.

Carriesattic - This beautiful vintage Grandmother plate is by Norcrest and is Fine China
Measures approx: 8" diameter
Back is marked Gold Norcrest Fine China; B-761. Cream plate with yellow accents
Gold trim ; Pink Roses Motif; Has cut out design; Script GRANDMOTHER in gold
A very pretty plate for any collector!
My Grandmother had a huge collection of plates and cups in this style... she marked every piece with the givers name.. we all got ours back when Grandmother passed away!

I hope you enjoyed my tribute to my grandmother and yours!

Have a wonderful Sunday and if Grandmother or Grandfather is still with you - go visit or call them.

Fun Birthday with Pinterest

Have you heard of Pinterest??? If not, get prepared to become addicted!!

Pinterest is all the rage... from recipes, to wedding ideas, to craft ideas, vacations and parties.

My niece found it and it was straight ahead from there... she made a plan - Mackenzie's Rainbow Birthday party.... well, not being very crafty or so she said, she hooked Mom into the plans.

Behind the rainbow(Mom made from different colored shower curtains) is the balloon room... you got it a room full of colored balloons.

It was a hit - kids and adults alike loved it. Mackenzie was thrilled... she is a 3 year old and loves pretty things.

The cake(this was so cool... 6 layers of rainbow colored cake - Ne ice made it) -

The huge flowers made from crepe paper and the hanging ones too(Mom made those) -

You will see on the table.... ice cream cone cupcakes, oreo cookie pops, water bottles with rainbow labels and other treats made from pinterst ideas(all my niece's creations)....lol... but she is not crafty!!!!

The banner was also a Pinterest idea...

I think you get the picture... so have fun and check out pinterest for some fun exciting ideas... I am sure she is already planning her little boys party from there.

Almost forgot the coolest idea... homemade play dough she gave out as a treat.. she gave the ingredients with the recipe on the bag to each child.

Wonderful Quotes to live by!

"Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you."
