The Promotional Frenzy team do a blog day on Wednesday and usually we just blog on what we want but of great leaders decided to change that this week. We are to blog on our work space with pictures!
Yikes, that means I have to show my work area, well that is not going to happen in the shape it is in so I spent a few days reorganizing and cleaning up!
I had hubby cut me a piece of fiberboard to put on top of my ironing board to make a bigger area for ironing fabrics.
My craft is sewing so I have lots of fabric about and I need to be able to locate what I want.
Hubby made me this great storage area in son's old bedroom which is now my sewing room/guest room. He made the shelves just big enough to hold file boxes which I file my fabrics in! Makes is so easy to locate each piece and I have labelled the boxes with the type of fabric.
Sons dresser also houses lots of fabrics...mostly my baby panels and plain flannels for backs of quilts and baby bibs.
This rolling cart has my scraps and my printed flannels for baby bibs.
The cupboard has odds and ends in it....lol... I am not going to show the inside! A girl has to have some secrets.
Under the futon, my batting lives! Along with another tote of unfinished projects or UFO's. The quilt on the futon was handquilted by me.
I have one sewing machine and a serger, sister left her sewing machine here for me as a backup if I need it.
My Room is not very big but I do make the most of my space and ...lol.... I do tend to spill over into other areas of the house, for example I spread my batting out on the Recroom floor to cut up. There is a large open area in the middle of the room big enough for a full bag of batting!
Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my work site....I do love it but it could be bigger...lol...I am sure it would never be big enough. I do try to keep it organized, I have so little time to craft I do not want to spend it all looking for things. My finished products are on the utility shelf....lol...poor hubby... in totes!

I'm hoping to have an organized sewing area one day-it might bring inspiration to sew!
You are organized....so nice that your hubby helps too! I am fortunate in that regard too:) Well done!
So organized and cozy!
Thank you for sharing! :)

Very comfortable and neat work space!
I have to admit, I did the same thing when I heard that we had to show pictures of it! LOL.
I often spill into other rooms of the house too!
I just found out about blogging about our craft areas last night. There was no way I would have got my room clean to take photo's this morning :)

i know a couple of "sewers" and they always tend to be soooooo organized with their fabrics. Its interesting.
I bet you love having everything all organized now, Mona . . . Spring Cleaning in the workspace:D
I'd love t get a peek at all the fabrics. The ones I've seen in your creations are so unique!
Love that you got your husband in on the organization aspect. Mine is always helping me find places for things and even remembers where we put them.
You did a great job cleaning up! It looks so organized. And I bet it feels better too! LOL
I know what you mean by motivation. It's like quickly running the dustmop when company is dropping in unexpectedly. LOl
your space looks like a very relaxing spot, warm and happy :o)
That is organized! I am impressed
very organized and nice space
SOunds like a wonderful hubby making all of that for you!!!
Lovely and organized to the "t".
Mona what a tidy and pretty craft studio, very well organised, great stuff. I would not be game enough to post pics of mine, it is the only room in our huge house that gets very messy most of the time and I love that I can leave it anyway I want to. I have started to organise things in storage bins and drawers as I seem to be gathering so much lately. There is hope for me yet!
You have such a nice workspace! Wish I had something like that! :)
Mona, your crafting space is so organized (even if you DID have to clean it up to take pictures for this blog) :-).
My crafts 'spill over' into other rooms, depending upon whether I'm crocheting in the living room while watching TV or listing items on Etsy at my computer station. The yarns are stored in a closet in plastic tubs and the finished items in another closet, also in plastic tubs. My space is limited in my new apt., so that's the best I can do. At least yarn and a crochet hook can be worked on just about anywhere! :-). Loved your article!
I love the way you have your fabrics organize, and able to open the box lid and see them all folded.....doh, mine are stacked on top of one another in a trunk and have to unbury all to find things at the bottom. Love your idea! And loved visiting your studio!
Thanks for sharing! You are organized!
